Meet the visionary founder of The Doula Ministry, Whitney Latoya, a seasoned birth and end-of-life doula with over 18 years of dedicated service to families in the Tampa Bay area.

As a proud African-American woman and Christian, Whitney has intimately navigated the healthcare challenges faced by communities of color. Her mission is rooted in combating health disparities and providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit.

Whitney's journey into this sacred work began with her own transformative experiences, including three natural, non-medicated births and the heartache of miscarriage. These moments of joy and grief deepened her understanding of life’s profound transitions, inspiring her to expand The Doula Ministry to include end-of-life care. After recently losing her beloved mother to organ failure, Whitney felt a calling to guide others through their final chapters with dignity, love, and spiritual support.

Guided by her Christian faith, Whitney sees birth and death as interconnected milestones on the continuum of life. Much like a candle, one life’s light ignites another, illuminating the way forward. And just as the infinity symbol reflects the eternal cycle of beginnings and endings, Whitney's work bridges these sacred transitions with compassion and care.

The Doula Ministry offers a holistic approach to doula care, specializing in prenatal, birth, postpartum, grief support, and end-of-life services. Whitney’s unwavering dedication to serving underserved communities has cemented her role as a trusted advocate, empowering families to navigate life’s most meaningful moments with strength and faith.

Through her work, Whitney aspires to leave a legacy of wellness, equity, and spiritual connection that transcends generations, offering families in Tampa Bay and beyond a guiding hand during life’s most profound journeys.
